Rick Dunetz is the founder and executive director of The Side-Out foundation. His passion for volleyball and his role as a coach led him to create the Foundation in honor of his mother, Gloria, who lived with breast cancer for six years.

Rick has coached volleyball in his local community for 15 years. Currently, he is the head coach of the Oakton girls freshman volleyball team and assistant coach for the girls varsity volleyball team in Vienna, Virginia.

 liottaportraitOn July 22-25, 2009 the Eighth International Congress on the Future of Breast Cancer will be held in Maui, Hawaii. Dr. Lance Liotta who is a lead researcher in the Side-Out Clinical Trial, will be a featured speaker in the segment “Toward Personalized Breast Cancer Therapies”. His presentation is titled Deciphering the Dominant Signaling Pathways: The Power of Proteomics. The work of Dr. Liotta examines the inside of a cell at the microscopic level to detect the location and pathways of the cancer. Dr. Liotta is also speaking at an international conference in Italy in June on Translational Cancer Research – Bench to Bedside. We are very lucky to have this prominent scientist as part our our team.
